Japanese Plant Builder for Flat Panel Production Awards HUETTINGER Electronic 26 Million Euro Contract

Germany-based HUETTINGER Electronic GmbH + Co. KG has announced that it has signed a contract worth 26 million Euros to produce generators for plasma excitation. Additional orders with considerably greater scope are expected in the coming months. The customer is a worldwide leading Japanese plant builder specializing in plants for flat-screen monitor production. Its plants are currently in high demand by large Asian flat-screen monitor producers. About the contract, HUETTINGER Managing Director Dr. Dieter Pauschinger said, “To make it in Japan, quality has to be at the highest level.“ With the signing of this contract, HUETTINGER has established itself as a German partner in the Asian-dominated flat panel display market.

The flat panel display as job generator
Driven by sales successes in Asia, the number of jobs at HUETTINGER in Asia and at the Freiburg plant has risen considerably. In the coming months, more than 40 new employees will begin working at the Freiburg-based electronics company. Some of them will start working in HUETTINGER’s new building, which is currently under construction in the industrial area of Haid. The new building is scheduled for completion this summer.

High performance for flat panels
HUETTINGER generators are found in plants that manufacture flat panel displays. During the production of these panels, materials are deposited or removed. This is how anti-reflection layers or conductive layers for controlling individual pixels are produced: The processes take place in the plasma chambers. There, an electronic conductive gas mixture – the plasma – reacts with the panels to be processed. For the plasma to ignite and sustain, a steady energy process is required. And this is exactly what HUETTINGER generators produce.
