HÜTTINGER unveils their new medium frequency generator BIG SC

MF Generator BIG SC: Compact and versatile
With its very compact design and wide output range (up to 40 kW), the BIG SC family can easily be integrated into existing systems or facilities where space is limited. Individual models are available with outputs of 10 kW, 20 kW, 30 kW and 40 kW. All feature a frequency range of 5 kHz to 100 kHz. The BIG SCs operate on mains voltages of 400 to 480 volts (V). A tolerance of +10 percent means an actual input range of 360 V to 528 V. This permits the use of almost any voltage in the world. Using parallel circuit technology, the BIG SCs offer significant advantages over power supplies using series circuit technology. These include the ability to easily adapt frequency and inductor current to a variety of different processes. This is accomplished by adjusting the parallel-switched capacitors. The BIG SCs also have a wide range output transformer, from 300 V and 600 V, which eliminates the need for changing transformers and thus saves valuable setup time. In addition, the generator’s output power can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent. This permits a much greater degree of process control and improved results, particularly for temperature-controlled processes.

Trinity of power
The BIG SC’s are available in three configurations: A 19" rack-mount version, which can be installed into existing or new equipment racks; A table-top model which is ideal for stand-alone use in research labs or applications with limited space; And, an enclosed cabinet design with a protection rating of IP54 for use in harsh, industrial environments. The BIG SCs can be ordered with a variety of data interfaces such as RS 232, RS 485, Profibus and anlog/digital. This permits the units to be easily operated by any new or existing system controller.
